One look at her and you’d say, yes, she is meant to be with the Khans. But Katrina Kaif’s journey in Bollyood was not all that hunky dory. She started her career by starring in a box office dud called Boom. Though the film had big names like Amitabh Bachchan and Jackie Shroff, but it didn’t help her much to make her mark. But you can say that destiny had something else in store for her. She was noticed by Salman Khan, who went out of his way to help her with the selection of movies and to make brand Katrina.
Today, she is one of the actresses who can boast of working with all the Khans of Bollywood – Salman, Shah Rukh, Saif, Imran and latest being Aamir Khan! Katrina’s much awaited film, which is also touted as one big release of the year – Dhoom 3 alongside Mr Perfectionist – Aamir Khan, will be releasing in December 2013. This will surely put her in a different league.
We are eagerly waiting to see the actress kick some b**ts!
Who better than the team of Jism 2 to show that there is nothing sexier than having compassion for animals? Director Pooja Bhatt and co-producer Dino Morea have donated the wardrobe of Jism 2 to benefit PETA’s homeless-dog adoption campaign and other initiatives. Costumes, including Leone’s lingerie, dresses and gowns as well as attire worn by male actors Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh will go on the auction on eBay on 3 August, the first day of the film’s release. The auction is up on ebay.com.
“With Jism 2 supporting PETA it’s clear, compassion for animals is super sexy. The proceeds from the auction of Jism 2 wardrobe will go directly toward PETA’s efforts to encourage homeless dog adoption, spay and neuter and toward our other lifesaving campaigns. If you respect animals, one easy and fun way to help stop their suffering is to make a bid” says PETA India CEO Poorva Joshipura.
In India, tens of millions of homeless dogs struggle to survive on the streets. Many of them go hungry, are injured or killed, are hit by vehicles or are abused by cruel people. Countless others are kept in animal shelters because there aren’t enough good homes for them. Every time a dog has a litter, it means fewer homes for the dogs who are languishing in animal shelters or roaming the streets. The answer is simple: always have your dog sterilised. PETA’s homeless-dog adoption campaign encourages all prospective dog guardians always to adopt from an animal shelter or take in a homeless animal from the streets and never to buy from a breeder or a pet shop – both of which only add to the problem.
Both Leone and Morea have separately shot ads for PETA India’s homeless-dog adoption campaign. Bhatt has rescued and adopted eight dogs from the streets, and Hooda helps animals in distress.
So hurry and bid for the outfits now!
Mumbai – Smiling brightly while holding her beloved rescued cat Dosa, Filmfare Award–winning actor Kalki Koechlin stars in a brand-new ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. The ad reads, “Adopt, Don’t Buy”, and goes on to say, “Even the Little Tigers Need You”, a reference to conservation groups’ efforts to save tigers. Kalki wants her legions of admiring fans to know that every time someone buys a cat or a dog from a breeder or a pet shop, a wonderful animal living on the treets or languishing in an animal shelter loses a chance at finding a loving home. The ad was shot by ace photographer Himanshu Seth. Kalki’s make-up was done by Berzin Irani. Broadcast-quality video footage of Kalki’s interview as well as behind-the-scenes video footage can be found here.
“Dosa is a super cat – he’s cuddly, affectionate and good-looking”, says Kalki. “With so many homeless animals suffering on the streets or waiting to be adopted in animal shelters, breeders only add to the problem by bringing yet more cats and dogs into the world. I am so happy that I adopted Dosa.”
Kalki debuted in Anurag Kashyap’s critically acclaimed Hindi film Dev D, for which she won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009. She was also nominated for Screen and Stardust awards for Best Actress this year for her work in the Hindi thriller Shaitan. Currently, Kalki is wooing the silver screen with her performance in the film Shanghai.
Across India, stray cats and dogs struggle to survive on the streets. Many of them starve to death or are injured, abused or hit by vehicles. Countless others are left to languish in animal shelters because there aren’t enough good homes for them. PETA and Kalki want people to know that they can bring joy into the life of a homeless dog or cat – and into their own lives – by adopting a lovable and loving homeless animal. And in order to take a bite out of the homeless-animal crisis, PETA encourages everyone to have their animal companions sterilised.
Yesterday, the Jism 2 team tweeted, “Part Proceeds from the auction of the #Jism2 wardrobe to go to PETA India! Woof-Woof Indeed!”. https://twitter.com/Jism2/status/210273427196612608
The tweet was then retweeted by filmmaker Pooja Bhatt. Bhatt recently announced clothes of PETA supporter Sunny Leone and other Jism 2 actors will be sold, including their underwear, to benefit charity. The auction will also include the costumes of actors Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh.
Sunny Leone and Dino Morea have both separately shot campaigns promoting PETA’s homeless dog adoption campaign. Sunny’s ad for PETA will be released later this year. Pooja Bhatt has adopted eight dogs from the street and they now live with her at home.
PETA India’s Chief Functionary Poorva Joshipura had this to say, “Pooja Bhatt, Sunny Leone, and co-producer Dino Morea are all already supporters of PETA’s homeless dog adoption campaign. We give Pooja Bhatt and the entire Jism 2 team two paws up for taking that initiative further by making PETA India a beneficiary of the Jism 2 wardrobe auction.”
So what if Agent Vinod was a bummer, Saif has high hopes about his next ‘Cocktail’ that has the leggy lass Deepika Padukone and the brand new hottie Diana Penty (yes, the one who replaced the former as the brand ambassador of a cosmetic giant).
People might not have forgotten about Agent Vinod, but at the same time they are anticipating the release of Cocktail. With all the fun and chic promo of this movie, it’s turning out to be a sure shot hit amongst the masses already.
We don’t know if Cocktail will do wonders for Saif and Deepika, we’re sure it will work its magic for Diana Penty, who looks promising!
Before Prabhudeva’s next biggie ‘Rowdy Rathore’ releases, there is already another news doing the rounds about a sequel to his previous movie. Rumours are rife that Pradhu might work with Shahid Kapoor for the sequel of his 2009 mega hit ‘Wanted’.
Shahid has been denying this story. Though he is keen to work with Pradhudeva, according to Shahid, he is not doing Wanted 2 or for that matter there are no concrete plans of doing any such movie.
It’s a hectic year for the actor already. He is hosting IIFA this year, followed by the release of his next film ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ and already has a movie in the pipeline with Piggy Chops sister Parineeti Chopra.
